At only age 17 Strand entered the U.S. Army with high ambitions and a burning drive to succeed. Strand had a solid career established and experienced many successes. But John had other passions rising up inside him resulting from the classic culinary education and experience he gained on his own during his 24 years of service to our country. The artistry of preparing food and serving someone resulting in a smile was all it took for him to know this would be the next chapter in his life.
Upon Strand's retirement he took his in-home restaurant alternative ideas and settled in the Shreveport & Bossier City, Louisiana area and in 2006 created Accents Personal Chef Service, a testament and reflection of all his world travels.
